The Nambucca Valley Youth Services Centre, "The Youthie", houses services for youth including homelessness, mental health, suicide after-care, and disability support.

Programs have included drug and alcohol education and harm preventation; music and singing; hospitality, including on-the-job, and off-the-job training, and work skills development; specific programs for Aboriginal youth - recently focussed around Gumbaynggirr language reclamation. Other programs such as after school activities, holiday programs and Friendly Friday Feeds have also been popular.

Our programs have been as small as 1:1 disability support; and as large as planning and running a Youth Skate Fest for about 1000 people - with skate comp, music and youth-run food and market stalls. 

The Youthie supports young people to develop to their full potential. The Board has a modest 'scholarship' fund. It is planned that this could assist Nambucca Valley youth participate in cultural, sporting, academic or other activities where finances and distance could be a barrier.

Regular donations will assist keeping our pantry filled with cupboard goods for people who are in need, and supply fresh food and staples to create our free Friday Feeds. As a safe space, youth feel comfortable dropping in to the Youthie, have a yarn with a worker and grab a snack or a cuppa from our kitchen.
